Meet The Team
Meet the minds behind the operations of Climate Synergy.
Dr. Omawumi Kola-Lawal
Dr. Omawumi Kola-Lawal is the Managing Partner, Technical Operations at Climate Synergy. She is a Sustainability and Impact Leader with specialized skills in Environmental and Social Risk Management, Training, Auditing, Due Diligence, Performance Improvement and Impact Management. She has a Masters in Environmental Technology from Imperial College, London and a PhD. in Environmental Management from the University of Salford, Manchester.
For nearly 25 years, Omawumi has worked to develop and implement policies, strategies and systems, helping at least 200 companies/projects manage environmental, social and climate risks in the oil and gas, manufacturing, telecoms, power, mining, private equity and finance sectors in over 30 countries in Africa. She provides strategic direction on environmental, social and impact management to university and company boards and has held non-executive director roles in venture capital, risk management and sustainability consultancy firms.
Omawumi is a visiting lecturer at the University of Salford and consults for the International Finance Corporation, the African Development Bank and the Economic Community of West African States. She is a regular public speaker and a published author on history, culture and sustainability topics and has developed numerous awareness and capacity building tools for sustainability practitioners. She also writes periodically for local and international media.
Jumoke Adama
Jumoke is the Managing Partner, Business Operations at Climate Synergy. She is a seasoned Human Resource professional specializing in Organizational Development (OD) and Change Management, with a keen focus on optimizing organizational performance and Learning and Development (L&D). With over 17 years of consulting experience across diverse industries in the private and public sectors, as well as not-for-profit organizations, her expertise spans a wide range of HR functions.
Her core competencies include – Organizational Development, People Development Policy formulation, Learning and Development Strategy development, Talent Acquisition and Management, Severance and Outplacement Initiatives and Workforce Planning.
In her career, Jumoke has held roles as a HR Business Partner and Client Facing Consultants for the various sectors including Sales, Marketing, New Product Development, IT and FMCGs where she was responsible for providing consultative support, client management, performance metrics, conducting market analysis to identify emerging trends and establishing strategic partnership to expand service offerings and enhance market presence.
For the past decade, Jumoke has partnered with various organisations across sectors to establish robust HRM systems, collaborating with boards and management teams to devise and implement change management strategies, develop comprehensive HR strategies, create People Policies, and manage Learning and Development programs.
Jumoke holds a Bachelor of Law degree from the University of Lagos and was admitted to the Nigerian Bar in 2002. She holds a Master’s degree in Human Resource Management and Development with distinction from the University of Manchester, UK.
Sunday Ojo
Sunday Ojo is a Consultant at Climate Synergy. He is a skilled Sustainability/ESG professional with a focus on climate change analysis, GHG emissions inventory/estimation, carbon accounting, air dispersion modelling and Geospatial analysis. He has acquired over 6 years’ experience across Africa, in the execution of technical, strategic, scientific, socio-economic and impacts related projects for policy and decision making in the public and private sector. His most recent research interests are centred around digital transformation involving environmental data, climate change modelling, and impact assessment.
Sunday Ojo has assisted and influenced businesses in achieving sustainability by guaranteeing the “climate-proofing” of their investments and growth initiatives. As part of his work, he has developed and implemented sustainability programs for a variety of organizations, and has conducted several environmental impact and climate risks assessments. He also supports the scientific community as a climatologist by conducting studies that tackle important problems pertaining to the impact of climate variability on ecosystems and human cultures.

Damilola Sobo-Smith
Damilola Sobo Smith is an Environmental and Social Specialist and Behavioral Scientist with over 15 years of international experience in finance, sustainable development, ESG risk management and green economy/finance.
She brings a unique perspective on integrating ESG considerations into decision-making processes and leveraging behavioral insights to drive positive environmental and social impact.
Damilola received her Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Mathematics from Rutgers University, USA, Master’s degree in International Policy from Stanford University, USA and Master’s degree in Behavioral Science from London School of Economics, UK
