Omawumi Kola-Lawal PhD.
Programme Technical Lead and International Environmental and Social Specialist for all Sectors
Dr. Omawumi Kola-Lawal is a Sustainability and Impact Leader with specialized skills in Environmental and Social Risk Management, Training, Auditing, Due Diligence, Performance Improvement and Impact Management.
For nearly 25 years, Omawumi has worked to develop and implement policies, strategies and systems, helping at least 200 companies/projects manage environmental, social and climate risks in the oil and gas, manufacturing, telecoms, power, mining, private equity and finance sectors in over 30 countries in Africa. She provides strategic direction on environmental, social and impact management to university and company boards and has held non-executive director roles in venture capital, risk management and sustainability consultancy firms.
Omawumi is a visiting lecturer at the University of Salford and consults for the International Finance Corporation, the African Development Bank and the Economic Community of West African States. She is a regular public speaker and a published author on history, culture and sustainability topics and has developed numerous awareness and capacity building tools for sustainability practitioners. She also writes periodically for local and international media. Omawumi has a Masters in Environmental Technology from Imperial College, London and a PhD. in Environmental Management from the University of Salford, Manchester.
Olajumoke Adama
Programme Management Lead and Learning & Development Specialist
She is a seasoned Human Resource professional specializing in Organizational Development (OD) and Change Management, with a keen focus on optimizing organizational performance and Learning and Development.
With over 17 years of consulting experience across diverse industries in the private and public sectors, as well as not-for-profit organizations, her expertise spans a wide range of HR functions.
Jumoke has held roles as a HR Business Partner and Client Facing Consultants for various sectors including Sales, Marketing, New Product Development, IT and FMCGs.
For the past decade, she has partnered with various organisations across sectors to establish robust HRM systems, collaborating with boards and management teams to devise and implement change management strategies, develop comprehensive HR strategies, create People Policies, and manage Learning and Development programs. Jumoke holds a Bachelor of Law degree from the University of Lagos and was admitted to the Nigerian Bar in 2002. She holds a Master’s degree in Human Resource Management and Development with distinction from the University of Manchester, UK, in 2014.
Damilola Sobo-Smith
International Environmental Specialist for the Finance Sector
Damilola Sobo Smith is an Environmental and Social Specialist and Behavioral Scientist with over 15 years of international experience in finance, sustainable development, ESG risk management and green economy/finance.
She brings a unique perspective on integrating ESG considerations into decision-making processes and leveraging behavioral insights to drive positive environmental and social impact.
Damilola received her Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Mathematics from Rutgers University, USA, Master’s degree in International Policy from Stanford University, USA and Master’s degree in Behavioral Science from London School of Economics, UK
Henry Camp
International Environmental Specialist for all Sectors
Henry Camp is an experienced environmental and social specialist with an over 35 year career dedicated to sustainable development. He has worked extensively across Africa, advising financial institutions and developers to effectively manage new capital projects’ environmental and social impacts and risks.
He has been a key contributor to some of the highest-profile developments on the continent and has worked across all major economic sectors – power and transmission, oil and gas, infrastructure, telecommunications, agribusiness, and manufacturing.
Henry has a technical background in biological sciences and over three decades of practical experience. His capabilities include environmental monitoring and analysis, impact assessment and planning, due diligence, financing, and implementation. He has a geographical and regulatory knowledge base built over the last 25 years working across Africa.
Jacqueline Wilson
International Governance Specialist
Jacqueline Wilson is an international governance specialist, consultant and trainer, who lives and works in UK and Sierra Leone and operates globally from these locations. She has over 20 years experience working across several sectors globally, including with international development agencies, NGOs and INGOs in trainer and consultancy roles.
She designs and delivers leadership development and project management programmes globally. She also regularly provides support, executive coaching and coordination of capacity building initiatives across sectors and is a certified coach, qualified accountant and lawyer with experience at Board level. Jacqueline has a Masters in Corporate Governance and Business Ethics.
Mamadou Lamine Beye
Francophone International Environmental Specialist for all Sectors
Mamadou Lamine Beye is an Environmental and Social Management, and Climate change Consultant based in Dakar (Senegal). He holds diplomas in environment, management, and sustainable development.
He worked in the Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) risk management sector in Canada for ten years, helping banks, asset managers, pension funds, NGOs to integrated ESG criteria into business activities. He has also worked as an ESG consultant for several organizations in Senegal and Mali and was involved in the development of the engagement strategy with the private sector for the implementation of Mali’s contribution to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions in accordance with the Paris Climate Agreement.
He was an Environmental and Social Management consultant at the World Bank from February 2022 to July 2023 and has been a consultant with International Finance Corporation since January 2019, where he is helps IFC in the integration of E&S criteria into all stages of its investments, in coaching clients through training and supervision visits and in analysis of due diligence reports and recommendations for improvement.
Mohamed Wurie
International Governance Specialist
As a seasoned financial strategist with over 17 years of international experience, Mohamed Wurie brings a wealth of expertise in integrating Corporate Governance (CG) considerations into organizational systems.
His extensive background in resource mobilization, strategic partnership development, capacity building and financial sector modernization is exemplified by his leadership in launching Sierra Leone’s inaugural National Switch payment system. Mohamed has a proven track record of driving sustainable development initiatives, enhancing financial inclusion, and supporting underserved market segments through innovative fund management and financial instruments. His ability to articulate complex financial and policy matters to diverse audiences, combined with a Master’s degree in International Business, positions him as an invaluable asset in fostering ESG practices within organizations.
Mohamed has consistently delivered impactful solutions that align with strategic development goals and has an expertise in capacity building, donor relations, and fiduciary oversight which has been pivotal in managing multimillion-dollar projects and cultivating long-term partnerships. Mohamed’s strategic acumen and adeptness in high-level international negotiations have significantly contributed to the development of sustainable initiatives and the provision of expert advisory support to various institutions.
Oladele Shekete
International Environmental Specialist for the Agricultural and other Sectors
Oladele Shekete is an experienced and dedicated Sustainability/ESG professional with 18 years’ experience with specialty in Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) risk management, ESG and Impact due diligence, management of technical assistance funds, project management and operations optimization.
Oladele has extensive working experience across sub-Saharan Africa in the food and agriculture and renewable energy sectors. He has implemented several Due Diligence exercises, Impact Assessments, E&S impact-driven Technical Assistance initiatives and business optimization processes in line with the requirements of applicable national and international operational standards.
Sunday Ojo
Environmental Specialist and Trainer
Sunday Ojo is a skilled Sustainability/ESG professional with a focus on climate change analysis, GHG emissions inventory/estimation, carbon accounting, air dispersion modelling and Geospatial analysis. He has acquired over 6 years’ experience across Africa, in the execution of technical, strategic, scientific, socio-economic and impacts related projects for policy and decision making in the public and private sector.
His most recent research interests are centred around digital transformation involving environmental data, climate change modelling, and impact assessment.
Sunday Ojo has assisted and influenced businesses in achieving sustainability by guaranteeing the “climate-proofing” of their investments and growth initiatives.
As part of his work, he has developed and implemented sustainability programs for a variety of organizations, and has conducted several environmental impact and climate risks assessments. He also supports the scientific community as a climatologist by conducting studies that tackle important problems pertaining to the impact of climate variability on ecosystems and human cultures.
